活得充实

40 DOP Session 3
Fellowship - We were Formed for God's Family

I thought the venue was not conducive;
I thought people would mind that I played my guitar;
I thought my group members couldn’t hear or understand as I read Rick Warren’s teaching;
I thought “sigh…”

They were not punctual - they were early;
They, plus ONE more;
They listened and nodded;
They shared that they’ve been encouraged and have learnt much.

It’s no wonder the bible talks about faith the size of a mustard seed. I don’t care how many times I have said this, but God’s strength is magnified and clearly exhibited in my weakness. There is so much joy being His instrument, and seeing fruit in doing His work. =)

My Saturday…

Yawnz…I AM tired. Just came back from watching 3.5hrs of...

Wooohooo! Pardon my ignorance, but I was expecting a black-and-white film with super cheesy lines…(especially after watching 龙门客栈 yesterday) I’m so glad it turned out to be an excellent classic that caught my attention from the beginning to the end (despite sitting on a ledge right behind). Beautiful colours, charming actors and an interesting plot.

I really appreciate how clubs and societies here organise such events for students. I’m really enjoying myself. Hope they screen Casablanca one day. ;)

Guitar Society

Crashed the 2nd acoustic guitar lesson at noon. We learnt music theory, and a little on tempo. I have been dissuaded from attending the class, so I was there just to seek advice for purchasing my guitar.

Thankfully, Ah Lan, the relief teacher for the classical class, offered to accompany me around to see other guitars, before I finally settled for this.

Haha, I know it's just the guitar head, but I have no idea how to take such a long object without showing my messy room. Paiseh ah... =P

Should have taken a pic of Ah Lan’s classical guitar though. It cost a whopping USD 4500!!!

2nd-hand Cultural Market

Open every weekend within PKU, you get really good deals here, IF you love Chinese books.

I was looking for bibles, but it was an inner conflict/dilemma. Bargain for a bible? I have my qualms about it…really. Thank God I didn’t find any suitable bibles (saw English-Korean, English, Chinese, but not the English-Chinese ones I needed).

Having 2 hours before Gone With The Wind was to start, I ventured out alone to Carrefour to get my bedsheet.

Have I ever mentioned how bad the traffic jams are in Peking? Boo. Blah. The tension is so so high on and off the roads. Honking and shouting, pushing and shoving. Stresssssssss!

You can’t blame the drivers, cos if they don’t honk, pedestrians who literally stand in the middle of the road will get killed.

You can’t blame the pedestrians for not following the traffic lights, cos as the obedient minority, they may never get across. BOO.

Gotta lay out my bedsheet, and turn in…zzzz…

Good night peeps!

gRacE =)
