Can one ever become immune to the pain of separation?

I have moved into my hostel room officially;
I showered at the so-called "Female Shower-Room" today...wasn't that bad;
I hand-washed my clothes and spent so much time thinking where to hang them;
I am gonna sleep here for the very first time tonight.

Boo. Gonna call mama later.

Almost reluctant to head out for dinner, but I know what mama's gonna say if I don't...
