Night Life

BluTac is unheard of in China!!! Ok…well, maybe here in PKU. Argh. They use scotch tape, double-sided tape, masking tape and even thumbnails to stick things on cardboards, shelves and walls, but no sight of blueeeeetack!!! =S

A month ago when I first arrived, people warned/reminded me that hot water supply is only from 8am to 12midnight. I wasn’t that concerned. Why would I need hot water at those wee hours anyway?

On my first night, I finally learnt why. Hostelites have happening night lives. ;)

Secret Operation at 23 45. Yawnz…
Singaporeans: 10
Australian: 1
Venue: Room 2-30*

Target:
Unsuspecting MOE Scholar who turns 24 at the stroke of midnight. He constantly scares himself with his wild imagination, and is spooked by the smallest things.

At 23 58, Mei Ying called and feigned a ghostly laughter. Heeee…eeee…eeee….

The moment the call was picked up, Wei Lie, his roomie, secretly opened the door and turned off the room’s lights with a long stick (used for scratching backs =P).

*SILENCE....*

.....................

..............................“Happy birthday to you…happy birthday to you…”

Yesss...anticlimax, but it was decided that since it would really scare the life out of him, the above was the limit.

Check out the cake. Those long sticks are candles, that when lit, they produce FIRE, instead of candlelight.

The Birthday Boy, Eric.

Success! Mind you, besides the Australian engineering girl beside me, the History student in white behind, and me, all the rest are from the Chinese department = Singapore's future Chinese teachers!!! *cheers!*

Yawnz...I managed to turn in at 1 plus. Throughout the entire night, I was itching all over and thought the bed was dusty or had some fleas. In the morning, my roomie said we had visitors: freaking mosquitoes in winter! Argh.

gRacE =)
