Staying in Beijing this holiday period has given me ample time for ping pong. We took turns and chalked up four hours on Tuesday and two today. If only I haven’t procrastinated on my Folk Lore assignment, I would have played and enjoyed the games more. =( Ping pong…anytime, all the time!
All in all, I crossed hands with about 6 locals. While ping pong may appear to be a mild and less violent game to many, I learnt that it still is a sport that reveals the character of the players. There were quiet spinners, intimidating smackers, and sore losers.
We played doubles today, and it was both fun being a player and a spectator. As a player, you have to acquire a sense of coordination with your partner. Every point lost is a double pain, and every point gained is a double joy. As a spectator, you watch how four people are constantly on the move, and the game looks so much more exciting.
Can’t wait for the next game…!
gRacE =)
