Today’s International Nurses’ Day! My cousin Shivonne is the only nurse I know personally. Many months ago, while my friend Daniel Kang was travelling in Taiwan, I became his guest blogger. For those of you who are interested, there was one particular post about Shivonne and me.

In my opinion, Mama, Aunty Agnes and Aunty Diana arrived on the coldest day in summer. Showers and winds, temperatures ranged from 12C to 17C today (it’s summer??!!).

Their scheduled arrival time was 06 20, but at 07 00, 余师傅 woke me up with a call that he hasn’t picked them up. PANIC! So I tried calling Aunty Diana using an IP card, but ended up dialling the wrong number and waking a certain Bryan in Singapore up. =P

To cut the not-so-long story shorter, they did arrive at PKU around 8am, and Aunty Agnes began complaining about the stinky feet on the plane and their owner who told the air stewardess off. Hmm…I wonder what the stewardess expected the man to do anyway…

After our 11.20rmb breakfast for 4 (that included 4 bowls of 皮蛋瘦肉粥., 4 bowls of soya bean milk and 4 eggs), the three of them were whisked off into a car headed for Tiananmen and The Forbidden Palace, while I went back to my hostel to nurse my supposedly SECOND headache in all my time here.

Ok, I guess my aunties don’t really care that much about photos despite me lending them a camera. They took 12 shots, one-third of which were…

After dinner, Aunty Agnes was highly amused by the opera singer at the 2nd level (see: top of background).




















I did join the ladies in the night for shopping at the Silk Street. Let’s just say we were all so busy shopping, even I couldn’t care for a pic. I got a top, a jacket, a cap and a formal blouse with a hole!!! *whineeee...* Mama got herself a pair of shoes and another for a good friend. The aunties were remarkable…they bought, erm…MANY tops, MANY bags and will be back tomorrow night for MANY more. ;)
