What An Atrocity!

“Grace, you don’t to chat with me? Don’t u know as iron sharpeneth iron, so is one sharpeneth the contenance of his fellow. Pls get on line by 6pm n lets chat.”

Atrocious! Nobody commands another to get online against her wishes to chat! Just when I thought things couldn’t possibly get worse…

“Sorry I forgot to greet U, how r u n how was ur night? I hope great…

That’s fine yeah. Maybe this person was really sorry. Then I continued reading…

Pls n pls, cross ur psychic barrication n lets flows.”

What’s psychic barrication?! And if he meant some psychological barrier, my gosh, I have none! FLOW?!

Thanks Bro Kai, so glad I heeded your advice.

Self Defence Lesson 8

It takes a lot more energy to drag myself to self-defence class, than to ping-pong. However, a part of me always feels indebted to the teacher for taking me in, and a Korean girl and I had to lead warm-up today, so I went.

My reluctance has been caused by me missing one lesson because of my cold, and then, realising that I couldn’t follow from then on. It doesn’t help that most of the girls spend time chit chatting, and we’re mostly so NUA.

Thankfully, our very intelligent teacher decided that a guy had to pair up with a girl for today’s exercises.

The one assigned to me was twice my size. From the every moment he laid eyes on me, there was a perpetual frown on his face. I did try to be friendly you know… =P But after slamming me down twice effortlessly, he approached the teacher for a change of partner. I was rejected!!! Boohoo…

And so I got to know Shao Shuan (ok, I think I got it wrong) from Shandong Province. A little taller, but of the same size as me, we cultivated some sort of 默契 in our 6 attack and 6 defence movements. We learnt ways to escape when pinned to the ground, when the intruder strangles or attempts to stab you etc.

At the end of our practice, Shao Shuan surprised me by remembering my Singaporean identity (possibly from the introduction session in Week 1), and 66.7% of my name -何秀娥! That was funny.

Extremely fruitful class today!

gRacE =)
