Thank God It’s Good Friday!

I’m off to 山西this evening by train, and will return on Monday morning.

It will be my first backpacking trip with 7 other friends, no hotel stay, no showers…! In case I starve, I have prepared…

Please pray for our safety! Thank you.

Besides the BICF’s bulletin, there has been absolutely no mention of Good Friday or the coming Easter here at all. No holiday, no TV highlights, no excited church friends.

Last night when I decided to attend a Praise and Prayer session, I went with a desire to meet with God, and to have my needs met. It never occurred to me that the same night many many years ago, Jesus met with his disciples with a heavy heart, knowing that He would have to give up His life for all the very next day. To burden Jesus with my mere needs, how selfish!

It was also at that session that we were asked how we have been preparing for Easter. Preparation?! I don’t recall any preparation at all for the past 9 years I’ve been a believer! Then, it dawned upon me. My church planned the 40 Days of Purpose campaign as Easter preparation! Gasp! ;)

I have been searching for a definition for love. The bible says in John 15:13 " Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." How can I ever comprehend God’s love? A love so great Jesus died not only for those who reciprocated His love, but for those who spit on Him, betrayed Him, denied and rejected Him.

My dear friends, the God of the universe wants and loves you. But we, who have been stained by sin require Jesus’ blood to cleanse us. Jesus’ death is the only bridge that can connect God and us. Would you receive this gift?

Give thanks with a grateful heart
Give thanks to the Holy One
Give thanks because He’s given Jesus Christ His Son

And now, let the weak say “I am strong”
Let the poor say “I am rich”
Because of what the Lord has done for us
Give thanks

gRacE =)
