Wheee…I was excited cos this was where 大红灯笼高高挂 was filmed!

乔家大院 belonged to a rich merchant during the Qing dynasty. It had 6 main courts, 20 smaller courtyards, 313 rooms, and covered an area of 9140 Metres Square! Interestingly, the house has been designed to look like a “喜喜” from the top view. Wow.
In the garden...

Junxiong & Zhiqing...wackiness again... ;)

Outside, vendors were selling 石头饼. A crispy salted pancake, each baked besides layers of black stones.

On the ride towards 太原, this cute little boy was in front of me. Sadly, he was all frowns and no smiles.

Dinner at 太原before heading on to 大同

That night, our driver located a motel for us at Datong. 5 girls shared one room, and the 3 guys in another.

Sleazy place it was, but I was so tired I was in dreamland the moment my head hit the pillow. Thankful.
gRacE =)
