NTU’s publicity cum informational materials came in yesterday evening by courier. WOW. I think I’m suppose to give a presentation this coming Monday. I think…because the PKU side can’t confirm anything! Argh.

After hurriedly bringing the materials up to my room, Leow called to say that he and his parents have arrived!
It was quite a long taxi journey to 朝阳区 for Chong Qing steamboat. Leow had warned me beforehand of his stern father, but uncle turned out to be traditional and nice. =) His mum too, had so much to say and share… ;) On the cab ride, she told me about how her daughter and niece were reluctant to continue working in Beijing, and Leow added how a 10-day tour in this capital could be so boring. It was then that I realised I have been very contented within the walls of PKU. Outside, it is such a different world.

When we requested a waitress to take a group pic for us, she apologised and said she’d ask a more-skilled colleague. Cool, I thought. This was the better of the 2 shots he took. ;)

This is 鸳鸯锅. You’ve got to taste for yourself the numbness of the 麻辣 soup!

Good thing they provided free flow of dessert…and my favourite was 冰粉! Something like our ice-jelly, but the syrup is made of just black sugar.

During the dinner, Leow’s mum talked about her childhood days, and her children’s upbringing and individual character. Leow’s dad was totally into China - what is famous where, when is the time to visit where… ;) Ha, I now know so much I can blackmail Leow!!! JK...

After the dinner, I was whisked into a cab and sent back to PKU. Wow…
gRacE =)
